If only every project would go as smoothly as this! We called many masonry contractors and most didn’t even bother to call us back. Mike was extremely responsive, came out to give us a quote (a very reasonable one) and then didn’t hound us after that. A few weeks went by before we were ready to have our chimney repaired, and when I called Mike get something scheduled, he was able to have his team come out within a week to get it done.

His crew was very respectful, they did an awesome job and were very quick, and they were able to provide me photos of the work up close so I didn’t need to climb up there and check it out myself.

Honestly, I couldn’t ask for a smoother experience all around. After dealing with plenty of terrible contractors over the years, it’s just really refreshing to have an overall great experience, even for something as silly as a chimney repair.

Mortar City was great to work with for my chimney repair, tuckpointing, and sidewalk replacement. They did an excellent job, and came in at a very reasonable price. Their sales team came out twice because of a storm the first time, their workers came a week early to complete the job, and when it ran long, finished the job on the 4th of July so that I wouldn't have equipment all over my front lawn for the entire weekend.

On top of it, during the work they found an extra cracked brick- and marked it for repair. After completing the work we realized they forgot to replace it. I didn't want to say anything because it was not part of the work I hired them to do originally. Two weeks later, after they had been paid and everything, they came back and replaced 2 cracked bricks and new tuckpointing in that area. When I emailed to thank them for going above and beyond they said - "we knew it had to be done, and that is just how we do things :) " . I was stunned, impressed, and will be calling them out when it's time to re-pour my driveway and patio.

The crew was very professional and even replaced a couple of areas not discussed in the quote. This company is honest, professional, and very skilled at what they do.

The crew did a good job of keeping the lawn condition intact, placing plywood over the grass to ensure minimal rutting coming up our soggy slope. I had a good experience with the quote process. Scott had a drone to inspect the Chimney brick deterioration along with the cap being split which showed the rook cause of the brick/water damage. They coordinated a crew that came out the next day to begin. Diligent workers, respected my yard, and talked me through what they hoped to accomplish through the day. Isolated bricks replaced along with the top several rows redone, the cap and vent replaced. Work looked very good to my eye. They did a good job matching the bricks and left the yard very clean. This group worked on my 2 houses that needed chimney repair at one, and removal at another. I also added cement work at one of the houses as the stair was not attached to the porch. This morphed into replacing some broken sidewalk, so it was a bigger job. They did this in November 2023. It was at the end of cement pouring season, and when it looked like the weather was going to go against us, they pivoted into the cement work. 2 of the workers were there until 9 pm, making sure that the cement was poured and levelled as they wanted it. The chimney removal went smoothly, they really cleaned up the property well. On the other house, they fixed the chimney and added a bird cage to keep animals from getting in, I had a squirrel in the house during the summer, and did not want that experience again. I appreciate all they did, the effort they put in, the communication. The work looks great.

After another contractor (lutz masonry) ruined my chimney, I needed help in a bad way. I called Mortar city and was able to get some questions answered, they spent 20 some-odd minutes calming me down on the phone. Scott came out and was able to explain what work needed to be done to fix the last contractors terrible work, and was able to get me a quote we were both happy about. Jeff and his crew came out a week later and got the job done, and I couldn't be happier. The work was done in a timely fashion, the workmanship appears to be high quality the crew was professional, and they cleaned up well after they were done. Overall I am happy with mortar city and would recommend them to friends and family.

My chimney is completely restored and looks better than new. The brick color and the limestone detail perfectly complement the front elevation of my home. I contacted this company and spoke to the owner, Mike. I had a cement patio poured by another company but was not happy with the results at all! I had a lot of questions and worries that I would be paying more money for no better results. mike was patient with me, answering all of my questions and put me at ease. The results were phenomenal!!
